Intellectual Disability Services
The Intellectual Disability Service has a number of inpatient and community services. The inpatient service operates a purpose-built national secure unit for up to 11 people, two "step down" cottages for eight pople and a cottage for youth (up to four people). There is also a community Mental Health.Intellectual Disability Team and a Consultation Liaison team, which provide assessment and support in the Central Region to clients whose behaviour has resulted in legal proceedings. The Central Region Intellectual Disability Care Agency and the National Adviser, Intellectual Disability (Compulsory Care & Rehabilitation) Act 2003 and service framework also come under this service
Mental Health Intellectual Disability Team
The Dual Diagnosis (intellectual disability and psychiatric disorder) service provides specialist tertiary services for clients with moderate to severe intellectual disability and co-existing psychiatric illness. Direct assessment and treatment services are provided in the greater Wellington area. Consultation / liaison and training services are provided throughout the central region. The team currently providing services to 160 clients throughout the central region.
National ID Secure Service
Haumietiketike is one of two national secure facilities (the other being in Auckland) that provide services for people with an intellectual disability who have offended and who have behaviour which poses a serious risk to themselves or others, may have co-morbid psychiatric disorder, and who are involved in the criminal justice system. There are also two step down cottages co-located with Haumietiketike. This service's focus is on the central region and the South Island. The inpatient service aso provides the national inpatient service for women.
Consultation Liaison Team
This team was established as part of the regional intellectual disability secure service. The team provides assessment and support to service users who show behaviours which pose a serious risk of harm to self or others, who appear to manifest a psychiatric disorder requiring mental health assistance and whose behaviour has resulted in legal proceedings. The team supports the RIDSAS provider in the area.
Hospital Level Secure Assessment Beds
The inpatient service also provides 2 hospital level secure assessment beds for acute assessment from the courts.
Regional Intellectual Disability Care Agency
RIDCA (Regional Intellectual Disability Care Agency) administers the (ID(CC&R) Act, 2003 and conducts needs assessment and service coordination for individuals with intellectual disability whose needs are such that they are considered unable to be supported in mainstream disability support services.
Operations Manager, ID Services
Rosanne Johnston has been a nurse either in the Mental Health or Mental Health Intellectual Disability Services for the last 21 years. More recently, her focus has been on the Intellectual Disability area, taking up the position of Clinical Nurse Specialist for the inpatient unit, Haumietiketike, when it was opened in 2002. Rosanne then became the Team Leader for the unit, progressing to Operations Manager for the whole of the Intellectual Disability Services in 2008.
National Adviser, ID(CC&R) Act
Dr Anthony Duncan was appointed to this position in 2008. The role provides both specialist advice on the law and operational procedures required for the administration of the Intellectual Disability (Compulsory Care & Rehabilitation) Act 2003 and advice on the service framework.. The position also supports Care Co-ordinators with their statutory role.

Jenny Barker is the team leader of the Inpatient Services (Haumietiketike and Cottages).
Michael Dorofaeff is the team leader of the Mental Health Intellectual Disability Community team.
